The New York Mets are set to take on the Washington Nationals in the second game of the season. The game starts at 7:00 PM EST. It will be broadcasted on SNY and WFAN.
The Mets will send Rookie Brian Bannister to the mound to take on John Patterson. Victor Zambrano was scheduled to make this start originally but will miss it due to an injured left hamstring. Zambrano's injury allows Bannister to make his Major League debut 4 games early as Brian was slotted to start the 6th game of the season. Now it seems the Zambrano will make that start. Brian is 25 years old and is the son of former Major League starter LHP Floyd Bannister. Brian impressed the Mets enough this spring to earn this opportunity and will make the best of it.
His opponent John Patterson has a 1-2 record with a 4.92 ERA against the Mets in 11 career appearances. Last season he went 0-1 with a 3.60 ERA in 4 appearances against the Mets.
Good luck Brian and LETS GO METS!!! |
