Glavine Shuts Out Braves

Yesterday the Mets sent the former Brave Tommy Glavine up against the dreaded Braves. Since joining the Mets Tommy has never had many great outings against the Braves. But last night Tom had the best outing I have ever seen. He pitched 7 innings allowing 4 hits 2 walks and no runs. He made several nice grabs off the mound and just dominated them. In the 8th The A-Train, Aaron Heilman, did equally as good against the Braves. He faced 3 and mauled them all down while striking out 2. In the end Billy Wagner came on and saved a one run ball game for Tommy and the Mets.

The only run scored was a home run hit by Paul LoDuca in the 6th inning. Carlos Beltran mad his return last night. He played the entire game and got 1 hit and 1 walk. His hit was a double that I feel if he is healthy will be a triple. The 4-6 hitters, Delgado, Wright, and Floyd got shut down, as none of them were able to get on base, they went a combined 0 for 12. The Great Kazuo got a hit to keep his 8 game hitting streak alive. The only other Met hit came from Xavier Nady.

WP: Tom Glavine (3-2) 2.29 ERA
LP: John Thompson (0-1) 1.32 ERA
SV: Billy Wagner (7) 0.69 ERA
