Norfolk Tides The Tides couldn’t figure Phillies pitching prospect Cole Hamels, who dominated in his 2006 debut Thursday as Scranton/Wilkes-Barre shut out Hamels struck out 14 in seven innings and allowed just three hits, with Juan Tejeda going down on strikes three times. Hagerstown Suns Jonathon Niese (3-0) kept his perfect start in order, allowing one run on six hits over five innings as the Hagerstown Suns edged the Lakewood Blue Claws Thursday, 2-1. Niese struck out six and walked two in the effort, with only a fifth-inning double by Lakewood‘s John Hardy inflicting damage. The Suns scored both of their runs in the second inning, as Elvis Cruz stroked a two-run double that plated Nick Evans and Matt Anderson.
