Mets On The Wright Trach

Steve Trachsel took the mound for the Mets tonight. In his first appearance he pitched very well in a 10-3 victory. Trachsel went six innings allowing 3 hits, 1 run, 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. Chad Bradford came on in relief and pitched another solid inning. But then the Mets called Jorge Julio to pitch the 8th inning, and once again Julio lived up to his reputation. He allowed 2 runs in his inning of work, and got some help from a heads up play with Xavier Nady. Darren Oliver came in for the 9th inning to make his Mets debut and he had a successful 1-2-3 inning.

David Wright and Jose Reyes both had great days at the plate. Wright hit a solo jack, and 3 RBIs. Jose had hits, including a 2 run shot, a single and a double, with 3 RBIs. Carlos Beltran hit the ball hard, got his second hit and stolen base of the season, and added a walk. Xavier Nady continued to hit the ball well as he went 2 for 4 with a run. And Rookie Anderson Hernandez delivered his first hit of the season. Oh yeah... And Steve Trachsel had a RBI double and a run.

The Mets and Marlins play again tomorrow. The game starts at 1:00 PM EST and will be broadcasted on SNY and WFAN. Tommy Glavine will take on the Marlins ace, the D-Train, Dontrelle Willis. Good luck Tommy and LETS GO METS!!!
