Nady Down And Milledge Up

That's right, Lastings Milledge will make his major league debut tonight at Shea. Milledge will take Nady's spot in the line up. He will play in right field and bat 8th. There are many different opinions as to why Milledge was called up rather than Victor Diaz. Some reasons include that Milledge is being showcased for a future trade. Another reason may be that the Mets have soured on Victor Diaz. In my opinion the Mets brought up Milledge because Nady's injury will keep him out for 3 weeks to a month. Having Milledge up at this time will assure that he will start everyday and it will show the Mets over a 1 month scale just how major league ready Milledge truly is.

There are also a lot of rumors that if Milledge plays phenomenally over the next month he will push Nady to the bench when Nady comes off the DL. I do not agree with this rumor simple because Nady has played so well for the Mets. If they do decide to keep Milledge it is my belief that Nady will be given a shot to play some 2B as he is a fairly good infielder. None the less Milledge gets the start in right tonight so good luck to him and LETS GO METS!!!
